Kevin Maher will be keeping his options open ahead of talks with Gillingham manager Mark Stimson.
Maher made a big impact during a brief loan stint with the Gills at the end of last season and Stimson is keen to bring the midfielder back permanently after he was released by Southend.
The 31-year-old will listen to what Stimson has to say when he returns from a short break, but he won't be rushing into any decisions.
Maher said: "I know that one or two clubs are interested in me but there is nothing definite and I’m just waiting to see what offers do come in.
"It’s a busy time of year and after being at a club for 10 years it’s quite strange. I’m going to take my time."
Stimson knows the midfielder well as they share the same gym and Maher has also been training alongside several Gillingham players since the end of the season.
That relationship alone won’t sway Maher, but it could help Stimson as bigger teams come in for the player.
"Gillingham is definitely an option," added Maher. "I've got a lot of respect for the manager and enjoy working with him."
