Kent's match-winning batsman Azhar Mahmood praised the selfless nature of his team-mates for making the four-wicket win over Hampshire possible.
The ex-Pakistan all-rounder followed a bowling stint of 1-40 with a dynamic innings of 26 not out from only 12 balls, which included a last ball boundary off Ian Harvey that won the game.
Speaking after his cameo of three fours and a six, Mahmood said: "Ian is a very good friend of mine, we've played IPL cricket together and Twenty20 for the PCA, he's a lovely guy and we had good fun out there.
"He hit a four when he was batting against me, so I was quite pleased to have the opportunity at getting one back and a six off him in the 18th over.
"In the last over, when we needed eight, both Geraint and then Ryan wanted to get me back on strike.
"There wasn't a second with Geraint, but he ran anyway, then Ryan knew his second would be tight too, but they both ran anyway to give me the strike.
"That's what team play is all about. It's all about playing for each other and not for ourselves. That was the biggest success of our team tonight."
Spitfires are in action again on Wednesday night when they travel to play Essex Eagles under floodlights in Chelmsford from 7pm.
Essex loan-signing Neil Dexter will not be eligible for the hosts, while Kent will hope that in-form opener Joe Denly recovers from a slight rib strain picked up in scoring his fourth straight cup 50 against the Hawks.
