Ryan McLaren's Kent future is in doubt after he was named in the South Africa squad for the one-day internationals against Kenya and Bangladesh this month.

Cricket South Africa said McLaren's selection depended on him being released by Kent, where he remains on contract having joined them as a Kolpak player in 2007.

The all-rounder has also been picked for the Twenty20 international against Bangladesh in Johannesburg on November 5.

If McLaren does play for his country it would mean he no longer qualifies as a Kolpak player for Kent and any return to St Lawrence would only be as an overseas player.
