KENT all-rounder Ryan McLaren looks set to miss the final two limited overs matches of the season with a fractured right thumb.
However, the South African plans to go through the pain barrier in order to play a part in the club's championship survival bid.
He said: "I may have to take pain killers and go through some discomfort.
"But one thing's for certain, we need to take 20 wickets at some stage to stand a chance of winning a game and I want to be out there playing my part in doing that."
Kent seem unlikely to have Darren Stevens fully fit again and able to bowl for the remainder of the season.
