Whitstable climbed further away from trouble in the Ryman League Division 1 South with an impressive 5-0 victory at Burgess Hill on Tuesday night.
Dave Cory gave them an early lead, before Clint Gooding doubled their advantage with his first goal for the club.
Ian Pulman netted Town’s third just before the break to put his side firmly in control.
Pulman got his second and Town's fourth in the second half and it was left to Liam Quinn to add number five from the penalty spot after he was brought down.
The margin of victory could have been even greater when Town were awarded a second penalty, but this time Quinn's effort was saved.
Ashford moved up to second after securing a 2-1 win over Godalming Town at Homelands.
The home side broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time when Mitchell Sherwood delivered a cross towards the back post, but instead of finding a team-mate, the ball sailed over the head of Chiweshe and into the top corner.
In the second half, Ashford remained in control and doubled their lead on 58 minutes when Dan Brathwaite launched a hopeful long ball forward, and James Humphreys out-muscled his marker before coolly slotting home.
The visitors refused to let their heads drop and pulled a goal back after 86 minutes when substitute Graeme Purdy fired home Andy Ottley’s cross.
Teenager Richmond Kissi netted a late winner as Cray defeated Leatherhead 2-1.
Leatherhead broke away following a Cray corner to take a 41st minute lead. Kev Terry got behind the Cray defence and fired the ball past keeper Glen Knight into the net.
It looked as though Kissi’s shot was heading into the net on 54 minutes before Lewis Wood helped the ball over the line to make sure.
The scores remained level until the final minute when Kissi struck the winner with a low shot into the net.
