Stand-in Gills captain Adam Miller was incensed by referee Keith Stroud's decision to award the penalty that settled the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa.
Miller was adjudged to have made the foul on Ashley Young which led to the penalty from which James Milner scored the winner in a 2-1 success.
“The penalty looked soft and it was soft,” he said. “For me sometimes they (referees) feel like they have to do the right thing and doing the right thing isn’t always in favour of the big players and the big teams. Believe me it was soft."
