STRIKER Simeon Jackson believes Adam Miller will be the key to Gillingham's season.
Miller was influential in the first half of Gillingham’s defeat at Oldham on Saturday when he played as a second striker behind Jackson.
The £150,000 signing from Rushden believes that Miller has what it takes to make a big impact in League 1.
Jackson said: “Adam is a great player with the ball at his feet. He can do anything, so he’ll be very instrumental.
“If we can get him on the ball and get round him, then I can see good things happening.
“When we were in the Conference, he was someone that you had to watch out for so hopefully he can get on the ball and make things happen for us.
“He was dropping in the hole and I was playing on the shoulder and it worked well. But we couldn’t get it going in the second half and he got moved out to the wing.”
Jackson briefly claimed Saturday’s opener at Oldham but the club’s first goal in three games was credited to Dennis Oli after the final whistle.
“I did touch it last but I’ve been told it’s Dennis’ goal so it goes down as his,” said Jackson.
“I’ll keep working hard and if the chances come then I’m sure I will do the business.”
