GILLINGHAM clinched a valuable, and fully deserved, three points as they defeated Millwall at The New Den. Andy Hessenthaler's side edged a tight first period although neither team could create a clear cut chance.
The second half followed a similar pattern with both teams playing some attractive football but failing to find the killer final pass that would lead to a goal.
It was the home team, who eventually found the back of the net on 68 minutes as Tim Cahill headed in Richard Sadlier's inviting cross.
That strike appeared to be enough to take the points but Guy Ipoua bundled the ball over the line on 83 minutes from close range to equalise after good work by Simon Osborn and Marlon King.
And with just three minutes remaining the Gills supporters were jumping for joy when Marlon King struck an excellent winning volley into the tp corner of the net with the outside of his boot.
