Charlton 1 Southampton 1
Manager Alan Pardew conceded that Charlton's hopes of qualifying for the Championship's promotion play-offs were now slim after goalkeeper Darren Randolph's blunder handed struggling Southampton a point as the Addicks again failed to win at The Valley.
Charlton have won only eight of 22 home games and Pardew admitted: "Our home form has cost us dear, though we have been pretty good away.
"I'm not saying we have a psychological problem playing at home but clearly something is wrong and I must address that.
"I don't think we're out of it but our chances are at best slim. We'll got to Queens Park Rangers next Saturday and try and win."
But he added pointedly: "Once we're out of contention I will not hesitate to bring in some of the many fine young players we have at this club."

Charlton were grateful for Andy Gray's first goal for the club since his 2million move from Burnley in January.
He powered in a 69th minute header from Lee Cook's free-kick and his celebration showed his relief.
But for Randolph there was only misery. Recalled from his loan spell at Bury with first choice Nicky Weaver serving a one-match suspension, he was preferred to Rob Elliot who starred on his debut in the previous week's 2-1 win at Plymouth.
The match was 10 minutes old when Randolph turned aside a fee-kick from Inigo Idiakez.
Bradley Wright-Phillips crossed the ball back where Randolph got himself into a tangle with team-mate Patrick McCarthy and dropped the ball over the line for a bizarre own goal.
Southampton goalkeeper Richard Wright produced the save of the match to foil Charlton substitute Darren Ambrose in the 72nd minute but Charlton created few clear cut chances.
Charlton substitute Jerome Thomas had a chance deep into the four minutes added for stoppages but shot over from the edge of the box.
