THE Kent County Football Association is encouraging more clubs to apply for the FA’s Charter Standard award in 2006.
Bredhurst Village FC took the accolade of Kent FA Charter Standard Club of the Year and Lordswood Ladies the Kent FA Charter Standard Adult Club of the Year.
Northfleet Eagles won the Charter Standard Development Club of the Year and South Park Rangers the Community Club of the Year.
John Harvey of South Park Rangers won the Charter Standard Club of the Year title and Terry Uings (Swanscombe Tigers FC) the Charter Standard Coach of the Year.
The FA Charter Standard Clubs scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for local clubs.
As a benchmark for quality it sets to raise standards and improve the playing experiences for all, providing football for children and adults of all abilities.
This year the KCFA development team created an FA Charter Standard Association for all clubs, schools and coaching organisations that have attained FA Charter Standard status.
KCFA football development officer Paul Dolan said: "I hope the success enjoyed last year will continue into 2006 and that more clubs than ever will apply for the Charter Standard award."
