Yorkshire v Kent

KENT arrived in Scarborough on Wednesday morning to be greeted by more heavy rain and little prospect of play before lunch in their LV Championship match with Yorkshire.

In such conditions skipper Rob Key is unlikely to risk overseas all-rounder Yasir Arafat. He was unable to bowl on the last day of Kent's clash with Warwickshire because of a side strain and Martin Saggers seems certain to deputise.

Saggers, fresh from a loan spell with Essex and recovered from last week's groin twinge, will be coming in for a season's championship debut for Kent.

The game seems likely to mark Andrew Hall's last championship appearance in a Kent shirt this year - he is set to tour Zimbabwe with South Africa in early August and then go on to the Twenty20 World Championships.

The match, which concludes on Saturday, is scheduled for 11am starts each day.

Probable Kent side: Key, Denly, van Jaarsveld, Tredwell, Stevens, Dexter, Hall, Jones, McLaren, Cook, Saggers.
