THE Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey squad have a home fixture on Sunday against Milton Keynes Thunder, the only team they have not beaten this season.

The away game ended in a 4-4 draw at the beginning of October and coach Kevin Parrish said: "It’s definitely revenge time.

"The guys are normally up for it but that draw should really give them something to go for." Face-off is at 5.15pm.

Reflecting on last Saturday's action, Parrish was delighted with how his side coped with a somewhat fussy referee and a poor rink in overcoming Peterborough Islanders 7-4.

The win means the Mos remain second in the English National Ice Hockey League with eight wins and one draw from their nine matches.

The coach said: "It was a scrappy game and I thought the referee wanted to be in the limelight more than let the game flow. The ice was pretty bad – probably the worst we have seen this season.

"But everyone played well and it was good to come away with the two points. I don’t think a lot of teams will do that at Peterborough this season."

"At the end we also managed to give some of our younger guys some good ice time and the game was never really out of reach."
