INVICTA DYNAMOS coach Kev Parrish has described his team’s performance at Oxford City Stars on Sunday as a "disgrace".

After drawing 4-4, Parrish is demanding his players make up for it on Sunday at home to leaders Cardiff Devils.

Although it was the first English National Hockey League points dropped this season, it was the manner in which Mos threw away their advantage that hurt Parrish.

He said: "We were 3-1 up in the first period and then fell apart. They let me down, themselves down and, most importantly, our fans down. It was a disgrace.

"We get fantastic travelling support, 50-60 fans who give up their time, and it’s not good enough to put in a performance that lacked so much passion as that one."

Parrish came down hard on his players this week and added: "They were read the riot act. They skated for half an hour without seeing a puck, which is something that has not happened for years. Now I expect nothing less than 110 per cent from all of them this Sunday."

A silver lining for Mos was the fact that Cardiff also failed to win last weekend.

Parrish said: "It was not a happy bus that travelled back from Oxford, but we did perk up a bit when our former team-mate Gary Dodds called and said his new team Haringey had held Cardiff 3-3 that night."

Against Oxford, Mos were without top scorer Andy Smith, out with a hamstring strain, and Karl Lennon, who was unable to ice following stitches after he was hit in the face with a puck in training. Andy Martin and Peter Beerling were also unavailable.

Still at 23.29 they were 4-1 up after goals from Kev Lake (1+0), Stuart Low (2+0) and Alex Shaw (1+0), before it all went wrong.
