THE Invicta Dynamos are looking to bring in new faces and tie current players to new contracts ready for the 2004/2005 season, which begins in September.
The Gillingham ice hockey side have confirmed that they will be competing in the English National Hockey League (South) for a second season and will be aiming to retain their title.
They have new opponents to look forward to in Cardiff and Haringey and possibly Solihull, who are still considering their options.
The Mos will again be competing in both the English Premier League Cup and the ENHL Cup, which is hoped to be upped from four to nine teams.
Forward Gary Dodds who scored 26 goals and 40 assists in 35 games last season and No 1 netminder Carl Ambler who achieved an impressive 93.18 per cent save ratio in the league are the first of the current roster to sign new deals.
Alternative captain Dodds, who played a handful of games for the former Medway Bears before spells at Lee Valley Lions, Chelmsford Chieftains and Haringey, will be returning for a second season with the Dynamos.
Ambler, an England under-19 keeper, who missed the end of the season with a dislocated shoulder picked up in training, will be between the pipes for a third season.
Coach Kevin Parrish said “We know that Gary had offers from other clubs so we are delighted that he will be returning and Carl has been excellent for us.
“I am talking to all our players from last season and that’s going well. I’m also looking around to strengthen the squad for next season and am in talks with five or six players from English Premier League teams. I hope to announce names soon.”
