INVICTA DYNAMOS legend Andy Martin took part in his testimonial match and described the occasion as "overwhelming".
Martin is one of the club’s longest-serving players after arriving at Gillingham in the 1989-90 season. He joined the team during the club’s heyday, when they were playing as the Medway Bears.
Martin led a hand-picked side out at the Gillingham Ice Bowl to face the current Dynamos team with the Mos running out 11-5 winners.
Martin said: "It was nice to see a lot of old Bears fans. There were more than 700 people in the crowd and I was only expecting between 300 and 400. It was quite
overwhelming.
"Everyone gave me a standing ovation. Everyone was the same and cheered both teams. It was really good for both sets of fans."
He added: "I’m going to miss the team and playing the game every week and don’t know what I’m going to do."
With his playing career over, Martin will now focus his attention on coaching the under-16s.
