INVICTA Dynamos' Ryan Giles has admitted to being "gutted" after being carried off injured during the club's defeat to English Premier League side Chlemsford Chieftains.
The 16-year-old sustained an avulsion fracture - when a fragment of bone is torn away from the main mass of bone by a tendon - to his hip and will miss the rest of the season.
Although he will not need surgery, he is currently confined to his bed, and will be re-assessed in six weeks.
Giles has impressed since breaking into Dynamos side this season and said the injury couldn’t have come at a worse time.
He said: "It’s pretty big to be playing for the Dynamos. I’ve really enjoyed it and I can tell by my game I’ve improved a lot.
"I’ll be keeping in touch and the doctors say I should make a full recovery with no recurrence. There was nothing malicious in the challenge, it was more how I fell and then over-stretching to get up."
The Mos face Oxford City Stars on Sunday and will be without netminder Joe Dollin, who has a knee injury.
