Name change in memory of soccer player

Pitch Invasion 5-a-side League organisers at Gillingham Anchorians have generously paid for Division 2 side Half Dozen Juve to change their name in tribute to one of their former players who died two weeks ago.

Father-of-two Faustos Cutone, 27, died in a car accident on Hoath Way, Wigmore, on December 30.

Juve are now called Faustos 5 in tribute to a player who was one of the most popular in the Pitch Invasion League.

There were also a number of one-minute silences before many of Monday’s games as the teams resumed the season following the festive break.

League spokesman James Leggat said: “The one-minute silences were a fitting tribute to a really nice man.”
