SUSSEX provide local derby opposition at The Nevill ground in Tunbridge Wells on Sunday when Kent will hope to end this season’s Festival Week in the Royal Spa Town in style.

The fortunes of the two county’s in this year’s re-vamped C&G Trophy could hardly be more diverse with unbeaten Sussex chasing a place in the showpiece final while Kent are struggling to fight their way off the foot of the southern conference.

Though the visitors will miss their leading wicket-taker Rana Naved though injury,Kent are boosted by the return to full fitness of spearhead pace bowler Amjad Khan.

Skipper Rob Key will also hope to welcome back young all-rounder Neil Dexter after the bout of tonsillitis that ruled him out of this week's championship clash against Warwickshire.

In a bid to improve the limited overs pitches at The Nevill, the surface of the wicket will be glued with a PVA water mix in a continuation of the experiment that has worked so well at St Lawrence.

Unbeaten in their first five games Sussex, with just the top southern conference side qualifying for the August 26 final, will be boosted by the news that overseas star Mushtaq Mohammed is available until mid-June.

Sadly, fellow Pakistan Test ace Naved will miss the game after picking up an injury at Horsham on Thursday.
