GILLINGHAM chairman Paul Scally has made a second threat to resign following controversy over the club's decision to switch their home strip from blue to white.
The fans’ protest at Priestfied before Thursday’s Nationwide League annual meeting drew national and local television and radio coverage.
Now, Mr Scally has warned that the uproar could cost the club their main sponsor, Seafrance.
Many supporters believe Seafrance influenced the decision to change colours and have complained to the company direct.
He said: “Seafrance have had faxes and e-mails from people telling them that they’re not going to use their service any longer.
“If, as a result of this, the club loses its main sponsor - and there is a chance it will - then it will also lose its chairman.”
Mr Scally first threatened to quit last season following a spat with the Gills Independent Supporters’ Club during which he offered to hand control to them.
