New number two at Priestfield

SCOTT BARRETT has been unveiled as Gillingham's new assistant manager. He was introduced at a press conference at Priestfield on Thursday.

Barrett worked alongside new boss Mark Stimson at Stevenage, but resigned from his position last week.

Stimson is relishing the prospect of the pair linking up again.

He said: "His views are very similar to mine. He's got great vocal chords so he'll get information on to the pitch a lot quicker.

"Scott has got a lot of experience at league level and he's someone like myself who is used to winning. That's the best habit you can have in football."
