GILLINGHAM are set to make a decision on defender George Abbey.

Nigerian-born Abbey, 25, has played two reserve team games for Gillingham and he is set to sit down with Hessenthaler and his assistant John Gorman on Friday.

Hessenthaler said he had been impressed with what he had seen of the player so far, but felt it would be unfair to comment further before speaking to the player and his agent.
