No breakthrough at Priestfield

GOOD CHANCE: Mark Bentley
GOOD CHANCE: Mark Bentley

Gillingham 0 Huddersfield Town 0

THIS afternoon's League 1 opener between Gillingham and Huddersfield at Priestfield is goalless at half-time.

The Gills got off to a solid start and skipper Michael Flynn tested the keeper with a fourth minute shot from long range.

Midway through the half Dean McDonald broke through after a clever reverse pass from Andrew Crofts but goalkeeper Matthew Glennon was quickly off his line to deny him.

The best chance of the half fell right on half-time when Mark Bentley was presented with a free header but his effort was well saved by Glennon.

Gillingham seem to be winning the midfield battle with Crofts and Flynn controlling the middle of the park.

Gillingham: Jack, Jupp, Cox, Sancho, Jackman, Bentley, Flynn, Crofts, Jarvis, Mulligan, McDonald
Subs: Easton, Johnson, Spiller, Ndumbu-Nsungu, Pouton.
