No change to club badge

GILLINGHAM will be sticking with their club badge next season after a supporters’ poll.

Fans were asked to pick their favourite badge from a shortlist of 16, including a bizarre red and yellow striped affair that looked like Valencia’s crest and one which was clearly the Arsenal design with the white horse instead of a cannon.

But the Priestfield faithful opted against a change, with the current version receiving the most votes.

Meanwhile, the 2005/06 campaign will kick off on Saturday, August 6.

But the fans won’t know whether they’ll be at Priestfield on the opening day or facing a long trek to the likes of Doncaster or Torquay until the Football League announces the fixture list on Thursday, June 23.
