Bromley 2 St Albans 3
Two Nic McDonnell goals weren't enough for Bromley on Saturday as they went down to a 3-2 home defeat to St Albans City in Blue Square South.
The Lillywhites fell behind on the half hour mark when Gareth Williams only managed to jam a free-kick against his own crossbar and ball bounced down for Paul Hakim to tap in from almost on the line.
And it was Hakim who made it 2-0 when Williams could only parry an initial shot and the ball again fell kindly for the St Albans player to net.
McDonnell pulled one back in the 60th minute after Warren McBean had capitalised on a slip by Ben Martin.
Bromley should have levelled soon afterwards after a mistake by St Albans keeper Paul Bastock - but McBean hit the post from five yards with the goal gaping.
The Lillywhites were made to pay when Gary Cohen scored a third for the visitors with four minutes to play from close range.
There was still time for McDonnell to bag a second at the death - but not enough time for any other action.
