THE Kent players and the students of Oxford University Centre of Cricketing Excellence were again left frustrated when Thursday’s second day was rained off without a ball being bowled.
Just two overs were possible on the opening day as Kent limped to nine for one with the loss of Joe Denly on first-class debut for a first ball duck.
But the rain that forced Wednesday’s early closure continued into the second day of three and forced yet another abandonment.
The match is scheduled to finish on Friday, after which Kent are next in action in Sunday’s totesport League match against Lancashire in Manchester.
Spitfires will have both overseas professionals available for the game at Old Trafford as Mohammad Sami and Andrew Symonds are now both in the country.
