No play on soggy Saturday

THE second day of Kent's championship clash with Gloucestershire was washed out by Friday night's heavy rain.

Match umpires Barrie Leadbeater and David Constant held inspections at 2pm and 4pm, but deemed the outfield too wet for any further play on Saturday.

Some 15 wickets had fallen on day one, as Gloucestershire reached 127 for five having skittled out Kent for 129.
