MARGATE are involved in Anglo-Welsh hostilities of their own on Saturday, two hours before the big World Cup qualifier at Old Trafford.

They face Newport County in Nationwide South, at Homelands, kick off 1pm. Greg Oates is the main doubt with knee tendon trouble, that has forced him off in the last two games.

Che Stadhart and Gillingham youngster Dean Beckwith are set to return to the side. Both missed last week’s FA Cup win over Waltham Forest.

The game will revive memories of Margate’s 0-0 draw against the Welsh club that secured the Southern league title in May 2001, in front of more than 2300 at Hartsdown Park.
