Leigh Mills was handed his debut on Saturday and now he is keen to cement his place in the team.
The on-loan Spurs defender replaced Garry Richards, who missed the Luton defeat with a hamstring injury, and Mills believes he can do a job at the back for Gillingham.
Mills said: “It was nice to make my league debut and obviously at Gillingham that’s my aim – to get into the team.
“I got a chance and hopefully I’ve done enough to push on. It was good to get that under my belt. I can move on and look to try and play more games for the club.
“It was always going to be difficult to get a little sniff but with Garry getting a little niggle it gives me an opportunity to show what I can do. It was nice to get that little break.”
Mills added: “I’ve got a game now and maybe I can get two, three or four. We’ll have to see if the manager still wants me after the month. It would be ideal to stay here and get the games in and as much experience as possible.”
