GILLINGHAM striker Iffy Onuora is almost certainly on his way out of Priestfield. Onuora, along with fellow free agent Marcus Browning, both missed training yesterday and the signs are that he is destined for Sheffield United.
The Blades’ failure to sign Dutch striker Laurens Ten Heuvel will make manager Neil Warnock even more determined to land a quality striker.
And because Onuora and Carl Asaba had a fruitful partnership at Gillingham, that makes him a prime candidate to become Warnock’s third signing in a week after he snapped up Stuart McCall from Bradford and Tranmere’s Steve Yates
Warnock said: “Carl had a useful partnership with Iffy at Gillingham so there is a possibility that Onuora, if we bring him in, could take some of the strain off Carl and help us get the best out of him.”
Warnock knows all about Onuora after the pair worked together at Huddersfield and he is set to train with the Blades squad at Bramall Lane.
