IFFY ONUORA is out of Sheffield United’s side to play Gillingham at Priestfield on Saturday.
The former Gills striker, who moved to Bramall Lane in the close-season, was looking forward to a first return to Priestfield until he ruptured an Achilles after 21 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 win over South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham.
Onuora fell awkwardly following a challenge by Malcolm McIntosh and later underwent surgery.United manager Neil Warnock said: "Unfortunately Iffy is going to be out for six months to a year."
Meanwhile, former Gillingham striker Robert Taylor is starting a trial period with Division 2 Colchester having earlier been released by Bradford City, Grimsby and Barnsley.
