GILLINGHAM midfiedler Kevin James faces fresh injury problems after falling down stairs at home.
James was well into his rehabilitation programme and making steady progress following surgery to damaged knee ligaments sustained during a reserve game in February.
The fall caused the injury to flare up again and James is due to undergo an operation.
Club coach Wayne Jones said: "A couple of months ago we thought Kevin had got over his previous knee injury and would be fine. Unfortunately, he's had a lot of bad luck.
"Now this latest injury means he must undergo another operation which is most unfortunate."
Last term James started seven games and scored three goals including the goal of the season against Watford.
