Newport v Bromley
Bromley’s play-off chasing player-manager Simon Osborn has admitted his side need to win all four of their remaining games.
The Lillywhites appeared to be on their way to answering Osborn’s recent call to treat their remaining fixtures as ‘cup finals’ after fine victories at leaders Eastbourne and Cambridge City last weekend.
But Bromley, who travel to Newport on Saturday, went down 2-0 at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday.
And with other results going against them, Osborn feels his side must take maximum points from here on in.
"It’s pretty clear now that we need to win all four to have a chance," said Osborn, whose team are two points shy of the play-off places, but having played more games than their rivals.
"We’ve had a couple of wins where other results have gone for us but they went against us last weekend, so I’m sure we’re going to have take all 12 points.
"Newport is also a tough trip. They’re a good side at home and the players know we’re going to have to play as well as we did at Eastbourne."
Newport won 2-0 at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday and are currently level on points with Bromley, having played three fewer games.
"We’re going to make sure we prepare right and give it our best shot," Osborn added. "We’ve been the kind of side that wins two and loses one but we’re going to have to do better than that."
