HEAVY overnight rain in Canterbury ensured there would be no play on the third morning of Kent's LV Championship clash with Worcestershire.

The St Lawrence outfield was left sodden by the deluge and umpires Barry Dudleston and Stephen Garrett knew by 11am that play would be impossible before 1.45pm.

They plan a further inspection around 2pm, but should the game go through to tea without a ball being bowled the officials will enforce the one innings match regulations.

That will mean that, should play get underway at all, neither team will play for bonus points but a victory for either side would garner 14 points.
