Blackpool 5 Charlton 3
MANAGER Alan Pardew threatened to shake-up his defence after Charlton's second half capitulation at Blackpool sunk an enormous dent in the club's promotion ambitions.
"Our defending wasn't good enough and we conceded some really bad goals," said a disconsolate Pardew.
"We had the elements in our favour in the second half and players like Matt Holland and Darren Ambrose turned in battling performances.
"But we had a back four that didn't function and I'm going to look at that _ not just for next week but the remaining 13 games."
Charlton appeared to have done the hard work in retrieving a 2-0 deficit after goals from Stephen McPhee in the 15th and Kspars Gorkss in the 25th gave Blackpool the perfect start.
Ambrose looked to have turned the game in Charlton's favour with two goals in the 28th minute that stunned the home side.
With the strong wind at their backs in the second half, Charlton looked set to go on and win the game.
Instead, they were rocked back on their heels by goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher in the 58th and 68th minutes.
In between Paul Dickov piled on the agony for the visitors with his fourth in an many games in the 62nd minute.
Though Charlton defender Jonathan Fortune pulled back a goal in the 74th, it was too little too late.
The 1,413 Charlton supporters at the match voted with their feet, walking out in droves in the 68th minute after Blackpool had scored their fifth.
