Charlton manager Alan Pardew and club chairman Richard Murray have discussed the club's long-term prospects ahead of next season.
Talks about players' contracts were high on the agenda, though Pardew said any decisions would remain in-house. The manager, however, insisted that he was at The Valley for the long haul and would not be using short-term fixes to gain promotion.
Mr Murray has backed the manager and Pardew said: "He's pledged his support and I thank him for that.
"I signed a four-year contract to try and build something at Charlton like I did at Reading and West Ham. That's what I'm trying to do.
"In view of our results, before Saturday, I had the meeting with the chairman and the board about our vision – regardless of what division we're in.
"I haven't spoken to any players about contracts and I won't until the end of the season. But there will not be huge changes, as there were last summer.
"We have players whose form bodes well for next season in terms of the experience gained this term. Some have performed above what we expected, some have performed below expectations.
"We have a big squad so there will be changes but not mass changes. In making those big changes last summer, we are ahead of some other clubs."
In a revealing insight, he disclosed: "The criticism I've been taking is not water off a duck's back. There has been a lot of soul-searching for me.
"I can promise our supporters that no stone will be left unturned this season to get us promoted. I'm already analysing myself and my staff ahead of next season."
