CHARLTON could parade a new full-back partnership at Burnley tonight.

Yassin Moutaouakil and Ben Thatcher are set to replace on-loan Greg Halford and Kelly Youga as manager Alan Pardew considers shaking up his side after Saturday's disappointing performance in the 2-1 home defeat by Preston.

The setback left the Addicks precariously clinging to the fifth play-off place amid mounting fears that the club are in danger of missing the play-off boat after registering just one win in their last 15 games.

If Thatcher plays it will mark his return to the side for the first time since damaging a thigh muscle in the 3-2 home win against Sheffield Wednesday on August 25.

Jose Semedo stands by for a recall in midfield as Pardew considers a return to the 4-5-1 formation which proved successful in previous away games.

"We still have our fate in our own hands, which is a blessing," said Pardew. "At least we can look each other in the eye at the end of the period and say we weren't good enough or we were good enough.

"I intend fielding a more experienced side against Burnley and we must go there and must win. If we put in a performance tonight whereby we've dominated the game and had the majority of chances but they score two goals on the break, I'll accept that more than what happened against Preston."

Tonight's match marks a first return to Turf Moor for Charlton striker Andy Gray who left Burnley for Charlton in a £2 million deal on January 18. Though he averaged a goal every other game for his former club, he has yet to get off the mark for Charlton.
