ANDY REID kept his nerve to score two penalties in the final five minutes that moved Charlton into third place in the Championship on Tuesday night.
A match Charlton dominated was heading towards a goalless draw when Norwich central defender Gary Doherty tripped substitute Izale McLeod in the 85th minute leaving skipper Reid to dispatch the resulting penalty.
Two minutes later livewire McLeod was tripped by Julien Brellier and again Reid gave Norwich goalkeeper David Marshall no chance from the spot.
A thrilling finale ended on a sour note when Norwich veteran central defender Dion Dublin was sent off following an incident with Charlton right-back Danny Mills in stoppage time.
But Norwich could have no complaints with the outcome after being outplayed for long periods by a highly fluent Charlton.
The Addicks twice hit the woodwork with Chris Iwelumo seeing his header hit the crossbar in the 11th minute.
Man-of-the-Match Reid was out of luck with a 69th minute free-kick that rattled the crossbar.
Manager Alan Pardew was quick to acclaim his team's performance afterwards.
"That was our best of the season," he said. "Not just in terms of the way we passed the ball but our discipline.
"We controlled the game for long periods and I thought we deserved a goal much earlier than the 85th minute.
"I was pleased with everything tonight, especially the clean-sheet."
