Charlton v Ipswich

MANAGER Alan Pardew needs to decide whether to start with Chris Iwelumo as a lone striker when Charlton host Ipswich at The Valley on Saturday.

Although Charlton have won their last four away games, they have lost four of the last five Championship matches at The Valley to remain outside the automatic promotion places.

Pardew axed striker Luke Varney in preference of Lloyd Sam for Tuesday's 2-0 victory at Cardiff, and could decide to stick with a 4-5-1 system.

But whatever system he chooses to go with, Pardew stated that patience and discipline are the keys to improving the club's home form.

He said: "We have to be more patient at home. Sometimes we are trying to win games before we have got control.

"We were very, very disciplined against Cardiff - it was a very accomplished performance.

"I thought we looked a very good side - and we need to take that discipline to our home games."
