ALAN PARDEW delivered an upbeat verdict after Charlton’s opening 10 games in the Championship, predicting that his new-look side have enough quality to win promotion back to the Barclays Premier League.
With the club sitting in second place after one defeat, the manager did not allow the disappointment of conceding a last-minute equaliser in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley to dilute his optimism.
He said: "I’m very pleased with the team and their attitude. I certainly believe we have enough quality to win promotion.
"I can say that from my experience at West Ham. What we’ve done is finish that first part of the season with a good total.
"Summing up after 10 games I would say that second is a fair reflection. I can’t stress enough how encouraged I’ve been by the way this new team has settled so quickly and the way they’ve played.
"I can assure our supporters we have a good set of players who are all pulling together to get us promotion.
"Now we need to repeat that in the next 10 games. We’re eight unbeaten and if you look at the results we’ve had, they are very, very strong."
