MANAGER Alan Pardew believes Charlton can still avoid relegation as his side gear up for their last home game of the season against Tottenham on Monday.
Pardew is keeping a positive frame of mind despite the Addicks suffering a 4-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
He said: “We’ve still got a chance of getting out of it. It’s obvious that when we play on Monday night we will be playing after everybody who has played on Saturday, so we will have a good idea by then I should think.”
West Ham’s 3-0 win over Wigan has left Charlton second bottom in the Premiership but Pardew admitted his former club had done the Addicks a favour, with the Latics just two points ahead of them.
Pardew said: “The result for West Ham against Wigan has almost helped us, I would think, so we have to be thankful for that.”
