CHARLTON assistant manager Phil Parkinson has escaped with a reprimand after being sent from the dug-out in the closing minutes of the club’s 1-0 win at Bristol City on November 6.
Referee Scott Mathieson banished Parkinson to the stand after he kicked the ball away to waste time as the Addicks clung to the lead.
Charlton feared a touchline ban but the Football Association have confirmed that they have written to Parkinson reminding him of his responsibilties.
Manager Alan Pardew, meanwhile, issued a public apology on behalf of his assistant over he incident and said: “I would like to apologise on his behalf.
“I know he was desperate for us to win, and in that instant most of us would have kicked the ball away as well. He immediately regretted it, especially as he got little sympathy.
“I could see all the bench sniggering as he was given his marching orders.”
