WELLING boss Adrian Pennock has vowed to make changes to keep their Nationwide Conference South season on track.

The Wings lost only their third league game of the season at St Albans on Saturday and Pennock has vowed to bring in new faces.

"I’m looking to freshen the squad up and get people in," said Pennock. "It will have a good effect on everyone."

Pennock has told his team to stand up and be counted ahead of Saturday's FA Trophy second round trip to Blyth Spartans, who are based north of Newcastle.

"It’s a big game for us, they’ve got strong players and the pitch is heavy. I need men up there – not boys – and if any of our players don’t fancy it then I don’t want them travelling with us. They’ll see us as the southern softies going up there so it will be a big test."

Matt Carruthers saw a specalist last week and is now expected to be back next week.

The Wings are away to Newport County on Wednesday unless they draw at Blyth, when any replay will take place at Park View Road on Tuesday with the earlier 7.30pm kick-off.
