Pennock: Plenty of work to do

DEMANDING: Adrian Pennock
DEMANDING: Adrian Pennock

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has demanded more organisation from his squad ahead of the new season.

The Wings boss has reshaped his team during the close season but wants his players to hit the ground running by the time the first Conference South game at home to Weston-super-Mare arrives.

Pennock said: "We’re looking fit but we’ve still got a lot of organisation work to do on the training ground. We must improve."

Pennock also admitted that he is still to decide on his first-choice line-up, including his defence where Steve Perkins, Chris Moore, John Guest and Joe Vines are all battling for starting places.

He said: "It could be any combination of the four at the moment who play in defence but it’s going to be hard to decide at the moment as they are all doing well."
