GILLINGHAM defender David Perpetuini considers next weekend's clash against Sheffield Wednesday as a "“must-win" game after another disappointing home against Reading display on Saturday.

Gills looked disjointed and well below par against a Reading side who are on a roll and bristling with confidence. Perpetuini feels that Gillingham have to come up with a few new ideas of their own to stop the rot.

He said: “We were too predictable. They made it hard for us playing just one up and cramming the midfield but we just ran out of ideas. We changed formation in the last 10 minutes and they ended up scoring from it.

"We didn’t really deserve much more than we got. We had the warning in the first half and in the second half there weren't many chances at all and they nicked one quite late and that knocked the stuffing out of us.

“Over the last couple of years we’ve built a reputation at home and for us it’s been a bit of a fortress and I think teams are coming here and making it difficult and perhaps we’re running out of ideas to break teams down. They're nicking it and getting things on the break."

“There’s no panic stations just yet and I think three points next weekend and all that will be forgotten about.”
