CHARLTON'S Uruguay international midfielder Omar Pouso is heading out of The Valley after just 57 minutes of first team football.

Pouso's agent Gerardo Rabajda has confirmed that he is seeking an early cancellation of the player's contract so that he can return to Uruguay and former club Penarol.

Pouso was signed from Penarol on loan by former manager Iain Dowie on August 30 after he was granted a two-year work permit.

Charlton paid £500,000 down with a view to a £1.5 million permanent move.

His only first team appearance came in the home game against Portsmouth on September 16 when he was withdrawn after 57 minutes. Injuries have hampered him since his arrival while he has not been a part of new manager Alan Pardew's plans.

"Omar has told me that he doesn't want to play in a team in which he doesn't play," said Mr Rabajda.
