ANDY Hessenthaler's hopes of strengthening the Gillingham squad ahead of the trip to Bradford at the weekend may have received a blow after recent target John Moncur took part in West Ham's game with Southampton last night.

The Gillingham manager was interested in bringing the veteran midfielder to Priestfield on loan.

But with West Ham currently struggling with injuries, Moncur appears to be in club boss Glenn Roeder's immediate plans.
