Protheroe ruled out for Welling

Chelmsford v Welling

Welling defender Lee Protheroe looks set to miss out on the trip to former club Chelmsford in Blue Square South on Saturday.

The full-back picked up a groin injury against Bishop's Stortford last weekend and is unlikely to recover in time having sat out the midweek draw against Team Bath.

Club captain Rob Quinn should return but Sonny Cobbs and Tony Sinclair are both doubts. To compound Ford's woes, defender Matt McEntegart is also battling to be fit having been suffering from flu.

Welling can take comfort from their display at home to Chelmsford, when they matched the leaders before losing 3-1.

But Ford stated: "Two games are never the same. I don't expect it to be the same sort of match.

"They are good at scoring goals late in the game so we need to make sure that we keep going as well.

"It's a funny ground with no atmosphere because of the running track but we'll be positive and hopefully get something from the game."
