JIM WARD will put his new-look squad through their paces in a “behind closed doors” practice game at Southwood on Wednesday night.
The Rams boss wanted an early chance to see how they were shaping up after the first week of pre-season training, with French triallist Yacine likely to merit more than just a look.
The Paris St Germain youngster arrived at Southwood after e-mailing the club asking for a chance to show what he could do.
Ward said. “I must admit I don’t know too much about him, but he asked to come, and looks a good player, with plenty of pace and movement.
He added: “It gives me a chance to give everybody a proper game for 45 minutes, and we will combine it with a training session.
“We have got five pre-season games against sides higher and lower than our level, and that will help us find out how good we are.”
