CHARLTON midfielder Andy Reid has been called-up for the Republic of Ireland's two European Championship qualifiers next month.

Reid played his first international for nine months recently when Ireland beat Denmark 4-0 and was involved in two first half goals.

The Irish face Slovakia on September 8 and the Czech Republic four days later.

Madjid Bougherra has been selected for Algeria's final African Nations Cup qualifier against Gambia on Sunday, September 9.

And Denmark Under-21 winger Martin Chistensen has been chosen for his country's squad for two European Championship qualifiers.

Denmark face Lithuania at the Aalborg Stadium on Friday, September 7 and then take on Scotland at East End Park, Dunfermline the following Wednesday.
