CHARLTON skipper Andy Reid's outstanding club form this season has been rewarded with a return to the Republic of Ireland's starting line-up for tonight's Euro 2008 Group D qualifier against the Czech Republic in Prague tonight.

Reid replaces fellow midfielder Stephen Ireland in the only change from the side that drew 2-2 with Slovakia on Saturday.

Ireland boss Steve Staunton, who was criticised for not using Reid on Saturday, said: "The conditions definitely wouldn't have suited Andy, but he is such a talent he can conjure a goal up out of anything or play that killer pass.

"I think this pitch will suit our players as much as theirs. The Czech Republic are a very good footballing side, but I like to think our lads are growing and they are used to playing on good pitches."

Record Irish goalscorer Robbie Keane welcomed Keane's return to the side.

He said: "We have an understanding. He's got a tremendous left foot and he can see the pass not many other players can, so he is a big player for us."

Charlton's Denmark under-21 winger Martin Christensen is likely play his second match in six days for his country tonight when they take on Scotland in an under-21 European Championship qualifier.
